The Smell of Gas

If you smell gas or any other strange odours when your boiler is running, you need to get it checked by a technician right away. Gas is combustible and this could be a serious safety hazard.

Loud Noises

If your boiler has started making loud knocking or banging noises, there is a problem. This usually indicates a build-up of debris on the heat exchanger. If this is the case, a technician can flush out your boiler to get rid of the build-up and get your boiler running smoothly (and quietly) again.

Ineffective Heating

If your boiler is suddenly taking a longer time to heat, or not heating as effectively, that’s a sure sign that something is wrong. It is also likely costing you more on your monthly bills when this is happening, because the boiler is working harder than usual to heat up, which translates to less efficient running and extra dollars piling up on your bill.

Leaking

If you notice water leaking from your boiler, call a professional right away. A leak could indicate loose joints, water pressure problems, or damage to seals or the body of the unit. It is important to get leaks looked at as soon as you notice them, before they get worse and cause a major problem.
